EDUCATION UNDER FIRE: Gov. Brian Sandoval proposes to cut at least 9 percent in state funding for K-12 education over the next two years. But state Senate Majority Leader Steven Horsford has put that percentage drop at 13.6 percent. As the Legislature planned to convene, Sandoval and Horsford were locked in a battle of wills.

TWO OVENS, ONE DREAM: Due Forni, a new Italian restaurant, will open powered by two Cirigliano Forni-branded ovens, which one restaurateur called "the Ferrari of pizza ovens."

THIS WEEK'S BUSINESS PRESS POLL QUESTION

Nevada legislators will be asked to allow testing of traffic cameras to see if they can curb traffic violations and reduce accidents caused by drivers running red lights at intersections. A new study by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety found that the cameras saved hundreds of lives in the 99 cities with populations of more than 200,000 that were studied.

Do you think the Nevada Legislature should allow a pilot program to determine whether the red-light cameras would be effective at reducing traffic deaths and violations?
