Construction equipment auction brings in $11 million

More than 400 pieces of construction equipment totaling $11 million were sold at an unreserved auction Friday at Cashman Equipment's corporate headquarters in Henderson.
About 80 percent of the equipment was sold to bidders who came from out of state and from as far away as Jordan, Australia and Saudi Arabia, said Todd Gilligan, general manager of sales and marketing for Cashman Equipment.
Online bidders purchased about half of the equipment, which included backhoe loaders, tractors, bulldozers, hydraulic excavators and wheel loaders.
"The rainy weather in the morning might have kept a few folks at home," Gilligan said. "But whether they were participating here in person or elsewhere online, the bidding action at the auction seemed pretty fast and furious."
