Group told to stop its sale of securities
The Nevada Secretary of State's securities division on Thursday announced that it ordered Sierra Mining Group, Durango Partners, David Kaplan and Mitch Menk, all of Clark County, to stop offering unregistered securities in gold mines.
Sierra Mining Group placed advertisements and held a meeting with investors. At the meeting, Kaplan and Menik solicited investments in $25,000 partnership units, according to the division.
"If this investment opportunity is as good as they say it is, they should have no problem coming into compliance with Nevada law," Secretary of State Ross Miller said in a statement.
Attempts to contact Durango Partners failed.
