Las Vegas billboard company files bankruptcy

Las Vegas Billboards LLC, a local independent in an industry dominated by national media conglomerates, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

The company lists nearly 80 locations on its website clustered mostly along the valley's major highways and arterial streets. The company lists both static signs, which are covered by printed canvases, and digital displays.

Managing member David Harris declined to comment on the case. However, court filings this week listed several collection actions filed by owners of the land under the billboards.

Court papers show $17.9 million in liabilities against $1.1 million in assets, almost all of it accounts receivable from other companies.
