For Security Partners, establishing its new operations center in Las Vegas was an easy decision.
The Lancaster, Pa., security monitoring firm sees great opportunity to thrive in Nevada’s business-friendly environment, with good transportation links that present a set of marketing advantages.
Security Partners will create 55 jobs including monitoring, administrative, dealer and customer support, and management positions with plans to grow in the future, President Michael Bodnar said. He said the company will look to local businesses to fulfill the needs of its operations center.
“There will be a need for supplemental services from cleaning, janitorial and supplies,” he said. “We’ll be purchasing locally and we’ll be actively involved in the business community as well.”
The wholesale third-party monitoring company works with more than 600 dealers nationwide to monitor their products and services. According to Bodnar, Security Partners looks after fire, burglar and medical alarms as well as interactive security such as home automation for lighting, temperature and live video for residential and commercial properties.
Security Partner’s Las Vegas location, which will open in mid-March at 4420 W. Diablo Drive, was formerly the Veterans Affairs building.
“Thanks to it being a formerly government regulated facility, it is a strong fortress of a facility,” Bodnar said. “We’re giving it a face-lift to put the infrastructure we need.”
Security Partners has grown significantly since its inception in 1998, according to Bodnar. The Las Vegas center will be the fourth, joining centers in San Antonio; Anaheim, Calif.; and Lancaster.
“We’ve always had a game plan to have a multistate, multiple time zone location for our operations center,” he said. “We have a heavy responsibility to take care of folks when they need it the most and to do that you have to stay up and running.”
Southern Nevada is an ideal location for Security Partner’s newest operations center as it’s a favorable business environment, Bodnar said.
“The ease of transportation in and out made sense for not only our corporate needs but our dealer’s needs for when they visit as well,” he said.
Las Vegas is home to the largest security industry-related show, the International Security Conference &Exposition — also known as ISC West, which will be held at the Sands Expo on April 15-17.
“Now we have a home to showcase our facility for folks who come to that event,” he said. “The location makes sense from a sales and marketing standpoint as well.”
