Mount Charleston resort property sells for $750,000

The Mount Charleston resort property with two luxury homes and four lots sold for $750,000 Friday at auction, 25 percent less than the announced $1 million opening bid, a publicist for Luxurious Estates real estate firm said.
Winning bidder was the Farmer family of Las Vegas. The offer included a 10 percent buyer's premium and the mitigating factor was the all-cash transaction, said James Woodrow of Preferred Public Relations.
The 1.42-acre gated compound on Forest Valley Court has two trilevel homes, each about 6,000 square feet, and two vacant lots. The homes were originally built in 2006 as vacation rentals with individual suites, but a Clark County zoning ordinance prohibits daily or weekly rentals.
Clark County Assessor's records show the homes were sold to Orchard Charles Anthony LLC in September 2008 for $1.55 million each.
