Opportunity Village announces key hires to management team

Local charity Opportunity Village has added to its leadership team.

The nonprofit, which places the disabled in jobs, said Monday that it has hired former Review-Journal Publisher Bob Brown as president of the Opportunity Village Foundation. Brown will work on special projects and major fundraising initiatives.

The group also announced the hiring of Mauro Lara as associate executive director and chief operating officer, and Lisa Manning as chief financial officer. Manning was previously chief operating officer and chief financial officer for the Cleveland Clinic/Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, where she managed fundraising, donor development and a $100 million campus build in downtown Las Vegas.

Opportunity Village Executive Director Ed Guthrie said the new hires will help the nonprofit expand its mission.

“Opportunity Village has very aggressive plans for the next five years. We intend to double the number of individuals with disabilities we serve. Bolstering our senior team was a vital step toward accomplishing all of our goals,” Guthrie said.
