More international rugby is coming to Las Vegas for the next four years.
United World Sports, owner and operator of the USA Sevens International Rugby Tournament in Las Vegas, and World Rugby said Tuesday the tournament is returning to Las Vegas through 2019 after five straight years of attendance growth at Sam Boyd Stadium.
The three-day tournament is set for March 4-6, which will cap a week of rugby activities and events starting Feb. 29.
The USA Sevens Rugby Tournament debuted in Las Vegas in 2010. In February 2015, more than 75,000 rugby fans took over Sam Boyd Stadium to break previous attendance records.
USA Sevens Rugby created more than $27 million in local spending on items such as hotel rooms and food purchases in 2015.
