Sandoval to lead trade mission to Israel

Gov. Brian Sandoval announced Thursday he will lead a trade mission to Israel in May.

Sandoval will travel with Nevada business and government representatives as part of the state's increased economic development efforts. He will also speak at the 18th International Agricultural Exhibition in Tel Aviv, May 15-17.

"I'm thrilled to be heading to Tel Aviv to meet our Israeli counterparts," the first-term Republican governor said in a statement. "This trade mission will give members of Nevada's business community and government leaders an opportunity to discuss ways Nevada and Israel can work together in pursuit of jobs and investment."

Sandoval said other topics will include technologies to expand water supplies and development of other economic sectors, including cybersecurity, clean energy and technology commercialization.

The Israel trade mission will be funded through private-sector participation. The Israeli Consulate will also assume a share of the cost.
