LAS VEGAS -- Arraignment for Nevada Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki, who is accused of mismanaging a multibillion-dollar college savings program when he was state treasurer.

WEDNESDAY:

WASHINGTON -- Labor Department releases weekly jobless claims, 8:30 a.m.; Freddie Mac, the mortgage company, releases weekly mortgage rates.

THURSDAY:

WASHINGTON -- New Year's Day. Treasury closed.

FRIDAY:

NEW YORK -- The Institute for Supply Management releases its manufacturing index for December, 10 a.m.
