Top executive at American Nevada Co. reportedly out
American Nevada Co. President and CEO Bruce Deifik reportedly has resigned after five years of running the real estate development arm of the Greenspun family of companies, which also owns the Las Vegas Sun.
Late Wednesday, American Nevada Co. officials would neither confirm nor deny that Deifik still works there. There was no word on the details surrounding Deifik's departure, although a resignation letter is said to be circulating internally.
American Nevada, like many companies, has been hard-hit by the real estate downturn. Several company developments have recently defaulted on mortgage loans, including The District at Green Valley Ranch in Henderson. Lenders owed about $100 million assumed ownership of the 7-year-old mixed-use complex in February.
Prior to American Nevada, Deifik was founder and president of Integrated Properties Inc., which had offices in Denver and Las Vegas. Integrated Properties was formed in April 1990 to handle acquisition, asset management, property management, leasing and disposition of commercial properties under the ownership of Deifik and his investment partners.
There was no word on who would assume Deifik's day-to-day responsibilities at American Nevada. Late last year, American Nevada's real estate portfolio consisted of about 300 tenants in 80 buildings throughout Southern Nevada. The company developed the Green Valley master-planned communities in Henderson.
