Washington Federal Inc. says its ticker symbol will change

Washington Federal Inc., the holding company for Washington Federal, Thursday announced that its Nasdaq ticker symbol will change to WAFD.
The new symbol will become effective as of the opening of trading on Tuesday.
"The ticker symbol will align with the company's newer branding and expanding business strategy," Washington Federal Chairman, President and CEO Roy Whitehead said in a statement. "Washington Federal earned the nickname WaFed years ago and the new ticker symbol reflects that."
The bank, with $13.6 billion in assets, operates four branches in Las Vegas. Seattle-based Washington Federal operates 166 branches in eight states.
