2 killed near Rio in hit and run

Two pedestrians died after being hit by a car near the Las Vegas Strip Friday night.

Las Vegas police supervisor Lt. Roger Price said two pedestrians were crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk by the Rio hotel and casino, near the intersection of Flamingo Road and Arville Street, when they were struck by a vehicle just after 10 p.m.

The vehicle fled the scene, Price said. A description of the vehicle was not immediately available.

The Clark County coroner’s office will release the identities of the two pedestrians after their families have been notified.
