An 80-year-old Las Vegas woman died after her car was struck by a pickup truck in the east valley Friday afternoon.

Las Vegas police said the woman, who was not identified, was a passenger in a Chevrolet Lumina that was traveling west on Flamingo Road before making a left turn onto Pearl Street, near Pecos Road.

While making the turn, the car was struck by a Ford pickup driven by Edgar Rogers, 67, that was traveling east on Flamingo.

Police did not say who was at fault in the 12:38 p.m. accident.

All of the people involved were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where the woman died. Rogers and the driver of the Lumina, Harry Shostik, 79, suffered minor injuries.

The accident was the 44th traffic-related death in the department's jurisdiction this year.
