Deal signed with Motorola for police radio system

Las Vegas police have officially adopted Motorola Solutions as the department’s new radio provider.
The $26 million deal was approved by the department’s fiscal affairs committee in February, a department spokesman said.
The deal comes after two years of complaints from officers about dropped calls and dead zones wit the Desert Sky radio system. That system, unveiled in 2010, cost $42 million.
The spokesman said that it is still unclear when the new radio system will be in place.
