Hard landing causes plane fire at North Las Vegas Airport

A two-engine plane caught fire at the North Las Vegas Airport on Wednesday afternoon after a hard landing, a Clark County official said.

Department of Aviation spokesman Chris Jones said the fire occurred about 4:15 p.m. while the Aerostar was attempting to land.

Both the pilot and passenger escaped uninjured, Jones said. The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration will investigate, Jones said.
