Joint law enforcement operation leads to arrest of suspected pimp

A 28-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a joint campaign by Las Vegas police and federal investigators against suspected pimps.

Arman Izadi was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on multiple charges including pandering, and pandering and transporting of an adult for prostitution, accepting earnings of a prostitute, first-degree kidnapping, coercion with threat of force, extortion and domestic battery with choking.

According to police reports and District Court records, a warrant for Izadi’s arrest was filed after he beat up a man who was to shoot a music video for him in April.

Court records show that in October, Izadi pleaded guilty to attempted battery with substantial bodily harm. He was placed on probation and ordered to pay $30,000 in restitution to his victim within 90 days of the guilty plea.

On Wednesday morning, SWAT personnel and vice detectives were searching multiple floors looking for Izadi at high-priced condominiums in the 2700 block of Las Vegas Boulevard South.

A woman who declined to give her name told the Review-Journal that neither management nor police would disclose SWAT’s mission.

A Las Vegas police spokesman confirmed Wednesday that SWAT was conducting an operation at the condominium complex, but he wouldn’t disclose what it was.

The Internal Revenue Service teamed up with the Metropolitan Police Department in the campaign against suspected pimps.
