Las Vegas mother arrested after infant daughter nearly drowns
Las Vegas police arrested a woman after her daughter nearly drowned in a bathtub Friday afternoon.
Police said Lori Lee Martinez, 28, left her infant child in the bathtub unattended "for a brief period." When she returned to the bathroom, she found the child submerged and not breathing.
At 12:39 p.m. officers were called to the home, on the 900 block of Silverman Way, near Owens Avenue and H Street, where they found that the child had resumed breathing.
The infant was taken to University Medical Center in stable condition.
Martinez was arrested on one count of felony child neglect and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
