Las Vegas police patrol car collides with vehicle in east valley

A Metropolitan Police Department patrol car collided with a sport utility vehicle in the east valley Monday night, a department official said.

Lt. Dan Zehnder said the crash occurred at 6:30 p.m. near Charleston and Nellis boulevards.

The patrol car was responding to a “high-priority call” with its lights and sirens on before the collision, Zehnder said.

The officer was hospitalized with minor injuries. Zehnder didn’t know whether anyone in the other vehicle was injured.

The crash was under investigation Monday night.
