One dead, one injured in North Las Vegas shooting
A 38-year-old man was killed and a 20-year-old man was hospitalized Monday morning after a shooting in North Las Vegas.
The identity of the deceased man was not released.
North Las Vegas police said the 5:20 a.m. shooting happened at an industrial center in the 3800 block of Civic Center Drive near Gowan Road, just east of Interstate 15.
Police said the 38-year-old man arrived to work in the same vehicle with the 20-year-old man and a third man.
As the men exited the vehicle, they were approached by at least one suspect and a verbal altercation ensued. One suspect began firing and struck two of the men. The third was uninjured.
Police said late Monday afternoon the 20-year-old man remained hospitalized and his condition has "stabilized."
Investigators believe the suspect or suspects fled in a light-colored Dodge Charger with a thick dark racing stripe down the center of the vehicle.
The incident was the third slaying in North Las Vegas this year.
