Police say Reno teen set fire in home

RENO — Authorities say a teenager who was upset about school has been taken into custody after starting a small fire in his Reno home Tuesday.

Police say the boy is suspected of first-degree arson and a weapons charge after the fire.

Reno Police Department Lt. Mohammad Rafaqat says the boy was upset about school issues when he spread gasoline in the home and lit a fire that affected a rug and a couch cushion.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports firefighters arrived to find the teen with a gun, and waited for police to secure the area.
