Woman stabbed to death in North Las Vegas

North Las Vegas police are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred Saturday morning near Lawrence Street and Washburn Road.

Police found a 44-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds after being called to a house on the 5100 block of Blue Rose Street at about 11 a.m. The woman was taken to University Medical Center, where she died.

Her husband, Alberto Gutierrez, 47, is wanted for questioning. He left the home on foot, wearing a blue T-shirt, black shorts and sandals. Gutierrez is Hispanic, 6 feet 1 and 225 pounds with a tattoo of a naked woman on his right arm.

Officer Chrissie Coon said detectives are looking into whether there have been prior calls for domestic disputes at the house. She said there were three other adults and three juveniles inside the house at the time of the stabbing.

This is the sixth homicide in North Las Vegas police's jurisdiction in 2012. None of the other five was an incident of domestic violence.
