Authorities target synthetic drugs in raid

Federal and local authorities raided a storage facility just west of the Strip Wednesday in an ongoing synthetic drug investigation. Police said they were not targeting the Power Exchange sex club, which happened to share space with the facility.

Man arrested in death of 1-year-old Las Vegas boy

Las Vegas police charged a man Tuesday in the death of a 1-year-old boy. Bransen Locks, 36, who was in custody on unrelated arrest warrants, was charged with murder in the death of Bently Olsen after police said he caused injuries to the boy consistent with shaken baby syndrome.

Gun background: Court had deemed Reno man mentally unstable

A young man who bought a handgun from a Reno police sergeant was adjudicated as mentally ill by a judge and prohibited from purchasing a weapon, but his name was never entered into a background check system because of a coding error, the Reno Gazette-Journal reported Tuesday.

Air conditioning units stolen from Boys and Girls Club

Three air conditioning units were stolen from the roof of the 10-year-old, 53,000 square foot the Donald W. Reynolds clubhouse, part of the Boys and Girls Club of Southern Nevada.
