Twelve suspected members of what Las Vegas police are calling a “violent gang” were arrested and 21 pounds of methamphetamine and other drugs were seized in a gang sweep termed Operation Washout.

Inmate dies at UMC after struggle at county jail

An inmate died Wednesday at University Medical Center after a Feb. 25 struggle with jail guards left him unconscious. Police said 38-year-old Luis Solanowas was uncooperative before the struggle at the jail ensued.
