Employee shot during robbery at Lee’s Discount Liquor in southwest valley
A Lee’s Discount Liquor employee was shot during a robbery Monday night in the far southwest valley, police said.
The shooting happened late Monday at the business, located at 8785 W. Warm Springs Road near the Durango Drive intersection, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Sean McNulty said.
The employee was taken to a nearby hospital and “is currently being treated,” McNulty said after 10:30 p.m. It was not clear whether or not the employee’s injuries were life-threatening.
It was unclear if anyone was in custody Monday night.
The building was taped off about 10:30 p.m. as detectives began their investigation. The business is located within the Rhodes Ranch Town Center, just north of the Rhodes Ranch Golf Club.
