Add a few vitamins
High-calorie, high-sugar sodas are tempting to kids -- and adults, too. But Kid Fuel, a vitamin-enhanced water beverage for kids ages 3 to 12, is designed to help kids break the soda pop habit.
Each bottle of Kid Fuel is made of purified water flavored with natural fruit sugar. An 8-ounce serving has 50 calories.
Kid Fuel -- which comes in raspberry, kiwi-strawberry, grape and orange -- also is enhanced with B vitamins, calcium and biotin, says Las Vegas-based Clear Beverage Corp., which is launching the product in several valley stores.
The bottles and an accompanying Web site (www.kidfuel.com) also encourage kids to take part in educational adventures with Professor Smart and The Kid Fuel Kids.
And here's a nice, practical plus: Kid Fuel contains no color additives, so it won't stain if it's spilled.
The suggested retail price is 99 cents to $1.29 for an 8-ounce bottle. Retailers include Terrible Herbst convenience stores, Evos restaurant in Henderson, The Egg and I and Egg Works restaurants, and select Krispy Kreme stores.
