Arts camp filling up quickly

The Arts Conservancy summer arts camp has openings for ages 12 to 15 and limited openings for ages 7 to 11.

The annual camp, presented by the Arts & Community Affairs Division of the city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services, offers children and teens the opportunity to experience a variety of arts activities.

The eight-week session begins June 9 and runs through Aug. 1, at the Reed Whipple Cultural Center, 821 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Several camp options are available. The full-day, five-day per week session provides younger children, ages 7 to 11, with exposure to art, dance, music and theater.

Children ages 12 to 15 may focus on either theater of dance.

An alternative option is a full-day, Monday, Wednesday and Friday session. The sessions run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The fee for the full-day, five-day camp is $550. All other sessions are $300.

Multiple children discounts, early drop-off and late pick-up are available.

Parents are responsible for providing lunches and snacks to their children. For details and to register, call 299-6211.
