May 15, 2007 - 9:00 pm
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Performing Arts Center season finale features the gospel group The Blind Boys of Alabama at 8 p.m. Saturday in Artemus Ham Hall, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.
Tickets are $45, $60 and $90 and can be purchased at the Performing Arts Center box office at 895-2787.
Joey Williams, Bobby Butler, Ricky McKinnie and Tracy Pierce join founding members Clarence Fountain and Jimmy Carter to perform gospel soul music.
Formed in 1939 at the Alabama Institute for the Negro Blind, The Blind Boys of Alabama predate Elvis Presley, Little Richard and Al Green, yet even in their 70s they are still at the top of the gospel charts and have won four consecutive Grammy Awards during the past four years.
