EVENTS

The Black Mountain Institute at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, will present its next Forum Lecture series at 7:30 p.m. Monday at UNLV's Marjorie Barrick Museum Auditorium, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway. The "Transforming Artists" lecture will feature author Moniro Ravanipour, dancer and choreographer Margot Mink Colbert and Roberta Sabbath, an instructor in the UNLV English department. The event is free (895-5542).

"Readings in the Pumpkin Patch," a pre-festival event of the Vegas Valley Book Festival, will feature a celebration of books, readings and music with bookmaking projects for children, children's book authors, book signings and other activities, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Gilcrease Orchard, 7800 Tenaya Way. Admission is free for the first 300 cars (229-5431).

Centennial Hills Readers Circle meets at 10:30 a.m. the first Tuesday of each month at Centennial Hills Library, 6711 N. Buffalo Drive.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

The Henderson Writers Group meets at 6:30 p.m. the first, third and fifth Mondays of the month at Saxby's Coffee Lounge, 72 Horizon Ridge Parkway, Henderson.

STORY TIMES

Story time with music and crafts is offered Tuesdays at 11 a.m. at Barnes & Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.
