SIGNINGS

Ingrid I. Holm-Garibay will sign and discuss "Letters From Frank: An American Terrorist's Life" at 11 a.m. Saturday at Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson.

Luzanne Lucas will sign and discuss "A Sweet Breath of Life" at noon Saturday at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at The District, 2220 Village Walk Drive.

Paul D. Smith will sign and discuss "Miracle in Las Vegas" at noon March 27 at Barnes & Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.

EVENTS

Author, reporter and columnist Thomas L. Friedman will present a discussion on issues related to climate change, energy efficiency and how the U.S. can lead a green revolution at 7:30 p.m. March 28 at UNLV's Artemus Ham Hall, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway. The discussion is part of UNLV's Barrick Lecture Series. Friedman's discussion will be based on his book "Hot, Flat, and Crowded: Why We Need a Green Revolution and How It Can Renew America." Tickets for the event are free. Paseo Verde Library's local author meet-and-greet series will feature Donna Foley Mabry, author of "The Alexander Merritt Mystery Series," at 2:30 p.m. March 28 at 280 S. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

The Spring Valley Book Discussion Group meets at 1 p.m. the third Sunday of each month at Spring Valley Library, 4280 S. Jones Blvd.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Borders bookstore, 2190 N. Rainbow Blvd., has a writers' group at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays.

The Henderson Writers Group meets at 6:30 p.m. the second and fourth Mondays of the month at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in the Running Rebel Plaza, 4550 S. Maryland Parkway; and the first, third and fifth Mondays of the month at Saxby's Coffee Lounge, 72 Horizon Ridge Parkway, Henderson.

The monthly Poet's Corner is at 7:30 p.m. the third Friday of the month at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd.

STORY TIMES

Story time with music and crafts is offered Tuesdays at 11 a.m. at Barnes & Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.

Story time in the Square is offered at 11 a.m. Wednesdays in Children's Park at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Individual libraries within the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District offer a variety of story times and special events for children of all ages throughout the year. Most libraries require registration for their programs. Call the libraries for details.
