EVENTS

The Jewish Book & Arts Festival will present a discussion with Joseph Gelman, co-author of the biography "Confidential: The Life of Secret Agent Turned Hollywood Tycoon Arnon Michan" at 11 a.m. today at Midbar Kodesh Temple, 1940 Paseo Verde Parkway, Henderson. On Nov. 20, author Mark Ribowsky will discuss his book "Howard Cosell: The Man, the Myth, and the Transformation of American Sports" at 10:30 a.m. at Congregation Ner Tamid, 55 N. Valle Verde Drive, Henderson. Both events are free and open to the public (794-0090).

As part of Native American Heritage Month, author Holly Davis will present the program "Representation, Preservation and Empowerment of the Native American People" at 1 p.m. today at Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.

The Black Mountain Institute at UNLV will present a reading with Srikanth Reddy at 7 p.m. Wednesday at UNLV Greenspun Hall Auditorium, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway. Reddy is the author of the poetry collection "Facts for Visitors." The event is free and open to the public (895-5542).

The Library Tree Lane fundraiser for the Friends of Henderson Libraries will feature an adult program at 1 p.m. Friday at Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson. Kevin Janison, author of "Deputy Dorkface" series, will present "Children's Books: To Entertain, Educate and Enlighten."
