Ever since "Hazards of Helen" in 1915, Hollywood has rolled in to roll in Las Vegas. More than 500 movies bear the made-in-Vegas brand. Last year alone, 32 were added to the list, according to the Nevada Film Office.

The city appeals to moviemakers because it is only 265 miles from Los Angeles, doesn't require film permits to shoot indoors on private property (many municipalities do), and has a ready-to-work crew base of at least 400.

Plus, it's Vegas, baby.
