‘Docs for Socks’ campaign under way for students

The "Docs for Socks" campaign is under way in the Las Vegas Valley.

Southwest Medical Associates and the Clark County School District are partnering for the campaign, which accepts donations of new socks and underwear for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Collection boxes will be at all four The Clinic at Walmart locations and all SMA locations and health care centers in the Las Vegas Valley.

The four valley Walmart clinics are at 7200 Arroyo Crossing Parkway, 1807 W. Craig Road, 6464 N. Decatur Blvd. and 300 E. Lake Mead Parkway. The clinics are staffed by Southwest Medical clinicians and provide nonemergency health care, including diagnostic lab testing, general health screenings, treatment for minor wounds and illnesses, routine physical and free blood pressure checks. They offer patients a restaurant-style pager so they can shop while they wait to be seen by a health care provider. No appointment is necessary.
