UnitedHealthcare launches UHC.TV

UnitedHealthcare has launched UHC.TV, an online health and entertainment network that provides programming on a variety of health topics.

UnitedHealthcare said in a statement that programming will be added on a regular basis and communicated via Twitter at @myUHC. Viewers can sign up for real-time programming alerts when new interviews and videos are posted. The programming is free and available to the general public at www.uhc.tv.

"An increasing number of consumers prefer to access and share information via their social networks online and through their smartphones," said Yasmine Winkler, UnitedHealthcare's chief marketing and product officer. "With UHC.TV we are making it simple and engaging for people to learn about their personal health because improving patients' decisions, whether related to lifestyle or their access to care, is critical to their total health."
