Design events converge in Las Vegas beginning today

Las Vegas will be the center of the design world for the next two weeks with a number of events that feature the latest in interior decorating, home furnishings, and kitchen and bath products.
It gets underway today with the National Interior Design Society’s 2014 National Conference, titled “The Power of Innovation: Igniting the Path to Success.” The three-day event features celebrity interior designers, Designer of the Year awards, educational seminars and networking.
Designer and author Mark Brunetz is the special guest speaker. The Los Angeles designer recently won an Emmy Award as co-host of “Clean House” on the Style Network.

Sunday is the new Monday for the start of the Winter Las Vegas Market, the only major home furnishings and gift market in the Western U.S. offering a unique cross-section of suppliers and buyers spanning these industries. The event will feature 1.1 million square feet of new and expanded showrooms, housing more than 300 newly added furniture and home decor brands. Also, more than 900 new gift brands have been added for this show, which is scheduled Jan. 26-30 at World Market Center Las Vegas.
Critically acclaimed interior designer and author Barbara Barry will be honored as the 2014 Design Icon on Tuesday.
A highlight of the Winter Las Vegas Market will be the second annual CEO Summit produced by International Market Centers and Eller Enterprises, which will take place Jan. 29-30. The Las Vegas Market also will continue its existing and successful, co-location with the Surfaces/StonExpo, which runs Jan. 28-30 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

Early in 2013, the National Kitchen &Bath Association and National Association of Home Builders announced an agreement to co-locate the Kitchen &Bath Industry Show with the International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas.
