Niko, a champion Great Dane co-owned by North Las Vegas resident owner Tuesday James, former assistant to Ward 6 Las Vegas City Councilman Steve Ross, won Best of Breed Feb. 17 at the Westminster American Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City.

He represented his breed in the working group competition Feb. 18 and although James said he showed well, he didn’t receive a placement.

Niko is the result of Tuesday’s decision to breed her female dog Ziba with another dog in Arizona.

Miss P, a 4-year-old beagle, won the Best in Show award at the 2015 Westminster Dog Show.
