Red Rock Canyon: Four-mile moderate hike at Fletcher Canyon is scheduled for Monday. Tuesday, there will be a moderate 2.5-mile hike to explore the Red Spring/Ash Spring and Gateway Canyon area. Also on Tuesday is a strenuous 6-mile hike with a 1,500-foot elevation gain. Thursday, there will be a moderate 3-mile night hike to Fossil Ridge. On Friday, there will be a 3-mile hike to Echo Canyon and Fossil Ridge with some scrambling. Also on Friday is an easy canyon clean up, and a moderate 4-mile hike up Ice Box Canyon with some scrambling. On Saturday, there will be a moderate 2-mile hike on Moenkopi trail, a moderate 3-mile hike to Oak Creek, a strenuoous 7-mile hike from Red Spring with some scrambling and a moderate 4-mile hike. On May 10, there will be a 4-mile hike to Arrow Canyon (515-5367).

The Desert Riders Club of Nevada: The Las Vegas Desert Riders Club of Nevada, a local chapter of the Honda Rider's Club of America, meets at 9 a.m. the second Saturday of the month at Carter Power Sports, 6725 S. Decatur Blvd. All motorcycles are welcome (795-2000).

Red Rock Canyon: Saturday, a Mother's Day program about the different ways animals in the wild take care of their young ones. Children will get the chance to see some animals up close, take a hike, play interactive learning games and complete a craft to take home (515-5367).
