HIKES
Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, see the remains of a historic homestead on the moderate, three-mile Pine Creek Nature Hike; for ages 12 and older. On Oct. 7, observe the Keystone Thrust Fault on the strenuous, four- to six-mile White Rock Loop Nature and Geology Hike; for ages 10 and older.
Desert National Wildlife Refuge: On Saturday, look for wildlife on the easy, half-mile Corn Creek Spring Walk.

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people 50 and older who are involved in hiking and related social activities plans several hikes each week of various difficulty levels, including an easy-to-moderate social hike on Saturdays. OTHER PROGRAMS
Red Rock Canyon: On Tuesday, view the types of venomous animals found in Red Rock in a tabletop presentation from 11 a.m. to noon at the visitor center. On Wednesday, make jewelry in a workshop for ages 12 and older. All materials will be provided. On Saturday, bring your kids to story time at 11 and 11:30 a.m. Also on Saturday, join other volunteers on National Trails Day and participate in projects to keep our public lands beautiful.
