HIKES
Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, check out the geological features and wildlife on a moderate, four-mile hike along the Calico Hills trail; for ages 12 and older. Also on Monday, watch the sun set and the full moon rise on a moderate, three-mile night hike at Pine Creek; for ages 12 and older. On Jan. 15, go for an easy, one-mile hike along the Fire Ecology loop. Also on Jan. 15, experience a little wilderness adventure on a moderate, three-mile hike to Ice Box Canyon; for ages 15 and older.

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people 50 and older who are involved in hiking and related social activities plans several hikes each week of various difficulty levels, including an easy-to-moderate social hike on Saturdays. OTHER PROGRAMS
Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, learn about the animals of Red Rock in a tabletop exhibit from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the visitor center. On Tuesday, view some of the types of animals that live in the canyon in a tabletop presentation from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the visitor center. Also on Tuesday, create a masterpiece in an art class for ages 15 and older. On Wednesday, a jewelry-making workshop for ages 12 and older will utilize materials that resemble the colors of Red Rock. On Friday, help clean up trash along a trail. On Saturday, children ages 2 to 6 can learn about wild animals through stories, activities, music and a craft.
