EVENTS

The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, 9041 S. Pecos Road, Suite 4000, Henderson, will have a celebration of the Rev. Helen McPeak's ministry with evening prayer at 6 p.m. Wednesday. A reception will follow (693-4100).

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas will have its annual retreat on Sept. 1 at St. Viator's Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. followed by a continental breakfast. The Rev. John McShane, Nevada state chaplain, will be the retreat priest. The fee is $10 for the retreat, breakfast and a light lunch. The retreat is open to members and nonmembers. Women who are older than 18, and not currently a member of a CDA court, are welcome to attend (204-5083).

Holy Trinity AME Church, 700 Lola Ave., North Las Vegas, will host its Women's Day Celebration with guest speaker the Rev. Yolanda Silver of St. Paul AME Church in Hughes, Ark., at 10 a.m. Sept. 9. Lunch will follow the service (877-0790).

SERVICES

Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St., will celebrate its 66th anniversary during services at 8 and 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sept. 9. The theme for the celebration is "Transformation - One Life at a Time." The Rev. Robert E. Fowler Sr. of Victory Baptist Church and his congregation will be in attendance (647-3071).

MEETINGS

The Las Vegas Lay Dominicans will have an inquiry meeting at 9:30 a.m. today, followed by its monthly meeting from 10:30 a.m. to noon at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Newman Community, 4765 Brussels St.

The Sathya Sai Baba Devotional Singing Group meets at 5 p.m. Sundays at 1128 Triumph Court (461-8655).

The St. Margaret of Cortona Secular Franciscans Fraternity of Las Vegas meets at 12:30 p.m. the fourth Sunday of the month at Pace E Bene offices, 1420 W. Bartlett Ave. (453-2417).

Hindu Temple & Jain Center of Las Vegas, 1701 Sageberry Drive, offers Balaji Abhishekam services at 10:45 a.m. the first Saturday of the month in the temple, and Aarti Pooja services at noon Sundays (304-9207).

CLASSES

Child Evangelism Fellowship will hold two training classes for new Good News Club teachers. The classes will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Calvary Chapel Green Valley, 2615 W. SINGLES GROUPS

60+ Singles Catholic Fellowship, open to men and women of the Catholic faith, meets the first Wednesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. at the Village Pub, 10900 S. Eastern Ave., Henderson (796-1953).
