Santa and kids make perfect match for R-J photo contest

Photos with Santa Claus.

They are, along with those silly Christmas tree ornaments you made in grade school that somehow have survived every single move your family has ever made, the quintessential Christmas keepsake. And while they look great in a family's photo album, we are convinced some Santa photos are so great -- so funny, so touching, so bizarre -- that they're worth sharing with the rest of the world, too.

The R-J is compiling a sort of community album featuring the best of Southern Nevadans' photos with Santa Claus. So here's the pitch: Send your funniest, sweetest or weirdest Santa photos along to us, and we'll print the best in our Dec. 19 Living section and online. We'll even give a prize for our favorite submission (and forget it, only Santa knows what it is, and he's not telling).

You can send actual photos -- copies only, however, because we won't be able to return them -- to: Santa Photos, Las Vegas Review-Journal Features Department, P.O. Box 70, Las Vegas, NV 89125-0070. Or, you can send high-resolution digital images (200 dpi) to jprzybys@ reviewjournal.com -- be sure to put "Santa Photos" in the subject line.

Either way, include your name, age, address and daytime phone number, and also make sure you send along the names and ages of the people featured in the photo, their relationship to you, when the photo was taken and any other information we need to understand the submission.

The deadline is 5 p.m. Dec. 8.
