Video shows shoppers break kids out of hot car
Two kids in Texas are safe thanks to some quick thinking good Samaritans who took matters into their own hands when they noticed the kids stuck in a hot car on Monday.
And the rescue was all caught on video.
According to KHOU, the mother said she had left the kids in the car to get a haircut.
“It was a crazy situation,” Gabriel Del Valle, who recorded the rescue, told KHOU. “The kids were in there crying. I mean you would understand. It’s real hot.”
The video shows people trying to smash in the window in order to get the kids out, but even after the window was broken, they still had difficulty reaching the kids.
“They could barely open the doors because there was a child lock on,” Del Valle said. “Kids were in there crying.”
According to reports, the rescue only took a few minutes, and the kids appeared unharmed once they were freed.
CBS Houston reported that police were not called, and the mom eventually came out and told the shoppers she was getting a haircut. Witnesses also told CBS Houston that the mom admitted to making a terrible mistake.
