Here are a few things in news, entertainment and pop culture that we've been talking about lately.

■ Travelers rebel against the TSA's physically intrusive airport security pat-downs. Usually, this degree of personal contact calls for an exchange of $1 bills.

■ Kanye West cancels a "Today" show concert because of his train-wreck interview with Matt Lauer. If the universe has any sense of humor, Taylor Swift will fill in for him.

■ Scientists say sending astronauts on a one-way trip to Mars would be a cheaper, faster way to begin colonizing the Red Planet. Unfortunately, the astronauts would be volunteers, and not people the rest of us just wish would be sent on a one-way trip into space (hello, Kanye).
