Here are a few things in news, sports, entertainment and pop culture that we've been talking about lately.

• Madame Tussauds Las Vegas unveils a Lady Gaga wax figure. u25B6 We'd call it "lifelike," but bearing any resemblance to real life is just an occasional thing for Lady Gaga.

• The "Brenda Starr, Reporter" comic strip will end Jan. 2. Coming soon: The slightly less exciting sequel "Brenda Starr, Self-Involved Web Blogger."

• Ukraine will open the sealed zone around the Chernobyl nuclear reactor to tourists next year. Everybody leaves with a personal glow-in-the-dark souvenir whether they want one or not.

• Las Vegas is awarded a Lingerie Football League franchise for fall 2011. Now trending on Google: Lots of "backfield in motion" jokes.
