Here are a few things in news, sports, entertainment and popular culture that we've been talking about lately.

* Cirque du Soleil announces that its new show at CityCenter will be called "Viva Elvis." Can't wait for the psychedelic number featuring acrobats dressed as peanut butter, banana and bacon sandwiches.

* "Sesame Street" celebrates its 40th birthday. These days, Cookie Monster has to gum his chocolate chips, Oscar the Grouch is known as Oscar the Cantankerous Coot and Big Bird's feather comb-over is fooling nobody.

* A 13-year-old cat in Iowa is believed to be the first cat to be infected with the H1N1 virus. Since irritability, fussy eating and copious napping pretty much make up a cat's normal day, exactly what symptoms tipped them off?
