Water Cooler: Crazy for Cowell, ‘Octomom’ exposed

Here are a few things in news, entertainment and pop culture that caught our eye last week.

■ A woman is charged with aggravated burglary after allegedly breaking into Simon Cowell's London home. An unimpressed Cowell calls the attempt at thievery amateurish, uninspired and technically lacking.

■ A rule change will allow women beach volleyball players to wear shorts, instead of bikinis, during this year's London Olympics. Hate it when people start messing with the sanctity of sport.

■ "Octomom" Nadya Suleman poses for a racy spread in a British magazine. No, that's not possible. Really, it isn't.

■ Director James Cameron takes a sub nearly seven miles into the Mariana Trench, the deepest spot on Earth. And when he got there, saw a sightless mackerel pulling a banner for the upcoming 3-D release of "Titanic."
