Youth theater to present ‘Ghost’ at Whipple Center

A ghost, a young girl, family secrets and a lost family fortune -- Rainbow Company Youth Theatre's "The Ghost of the River House" is a mystifying puzzle.

The play opens at 7 p.m. April 4 in the studio theater at the Reed Whipple Cultural Center, 821 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Performances continue on at 7 p.m. April 10-12, and on at 2 p.m. April 6 and 12-13.

Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for teens and seniors, and $3 for children age 12 and under, and may be purchased by phone or at the cultural center's box office. Call 229-6211 for information.

The play focuses on a young girl, who, in trying to understand her difficult relationship with her father, discovers that there are hidden secrets in her family's past that have a bearing on her own circumstances. The play is recommended for grade three through adult.

"The Ghost of the River House" is the annual production that is designed by student members of Rainbow Company's Ensemble. All of the students are between the ages of 14 and 18 and many have been part of the ensemble for several years.

Chris Marcellus and Molly Rautenstrauch designed the set and props. Haley Severance is the lighting designer, Joe Hines and Chelsee Bergen are responsible for the sound, and Sefen Martin, Kyra Lehtinen and Kayla Royster are the costume designers.

Devin Bozzelli is stage manager and assistant director.
