Nevada panel OKs $2M for education software system
CARSON CITY — The Nevada Board of Examiners on Tuesday approved a $1.78 million contract to support the statewide longitudinal data system.
The contract, awarded through the Office of Workforce Innovation, goes to Eduloka Limited, a Reno company that does business as inDatum.The contract expires June 30, 2021.
The system, Nevada P20 to Workforce Reporting, provides data to the state’s educators and policymakers.
The work is tied to a federal grant that the Nevada Department of Education received four years ago to add higher education and workforce data tracking to the statewide longitudinal data system.
The information will be used as an economic forecasting tool and agencies that use it include the Nevada Department of Education, Nevada System of Higher Education and Department of Rehabilitation.
Separately, the Board of Examiners approved an increase to another contract for the student accountability system and statewide longitudinal data system. The contract’s maximum amount increases from $561,000 to $1.3 million because of the need for continued hardware and maintenance services from Otis Educational Systems.
It’s the state’s third increase to the 2014 contract, which began as a $187,000 agreement three years ago. The seven-year agreement expires June 30, 2021.
