8-year-old girl reported missing in Bullhead City

Arizona authorities are searching for an 8-year-old girl who went missing from her home early Tuesday morning.

Bullhead City police received a call about 1:30 a.m. from the mother of Isabella Grogan-Cannella, who said the little girl was not in her bed.

Isabella, or “Bella,” is about 4-feet-8-inches tall and weighs between 80 and 90 pounds. She has shoulder-length, dirty blonde hair and blue eyes.

She was last seen before bed Monday night by her sister, who sleeps in the same room, said Bullhead City police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt. She was wearing a ruffled, sparkly green tank top and dark-colored shorts and may be barefoot.

Isabella’s mother said her daughter’s absence was very out of the ordinary because she never ran away and always told someone if she was going somewhere.

The family’s home in the 2400 block of Lakeside Drive sits across the street from a park, soccer fields and the Colorado River. The police department, the fire department, volunteers and neighbors have been searching the neighborhood since early morning, Fromelt said at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The case doesn’t meet the criteria for issuing an Amber Alert, Fromelt said, because there were no signs of struggle or abduction.

Police are interviewing everyone in the home. Police do not believe that the girl’s disappearance is related to custodial issues, Fromelt said. Isabella’s father lives in a different state and is not involved in the case.

Bullhead City police, the FBI and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Arizona are assisting in searching for the girl.
