Coroner IDs road worker hit and killed by truck

The man who appeared to be working on a bus lane and was hit and killed by a truck in the west valley Sunday morning was identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Robert Lee Lujan, 57, of Las Vegas, died after being hit just before 10 a.m. by a 2004 Ford F-150 while he appeared to be working in the bus lane in the 3900 block of West Sahara Avenue, police said.

The truck, driven by Rafael Mendez-Soto, then hit a parked 2001 Chevrolet W 4500 that was parked on the bus lane, police said.

Lujan, who police said they believe to be a contractor, was declared dead on the scene and Rafael Mendez-Soto, 41, was arrested for DUI moments later after he left the scene, police said.
